Emergency Kit

An emergency comfort kit, for your child, must be stored at our school in case of major emergencies such as severe earthquake, storm, etc.

Each child’s emergency comfort kit should contain the following:

(Substitutions may be made to suit your child’s tastes. The items must have a shelf life of one year.)

  • Granola Bar
  • Canned meat – (flip lid) – 2
  • Fruit cup – 2
  • Small package of crackers – 2
  • Small package of raisins – 2
  • Jerky
  • Plastic spoon – 2
  • Fruit roll up
  • Flashlight with batteries
  • 1 leaf/lawn plastic bag
  • Wipe ups
  • Space Blanket – sold at Big Five, Bi-Mart and most sporting good stores. They are made of space age material designed to hold in body heat. Do not send other blankets.
  • Letter of comfort
  • Family photo (including pets)

All of these must fit into a 1-gallon size zip lock bag, labeled on both sides with your child’s name. Do not substitute containers please – we have limited storage area.

If there is medication that your child must take daily, please see your child’s teacher about keeping an emergency supply at school.
